On New Year’s Day 2012 some friends and I were walking around Carlingford Lake in Ireland. We were all a bit hungover and so were in a sentimental and reminiscent mood.
We were trying to pinpoint our ‘best bits’ of 2012 and share the happy memories. It was so hard to recollect everything though. And more often than not we all remembered the miserable, sad and trying times rather than the happy times.
So, we decided to change this for 2012. Our ‘Group Leader’ (he always organises things!) set up a wordpress blog that we all had access to. The aim is to record the highlights of 2012 as they happen. With friends living in Ireland, Sudan, Australia and England its also a great way of keeping in touch without spying on each other through Facebook. We all work in different industries as well which makes for an interesting array of writing styles, features and links.
As one of the only members of the group who works in Digital Marketing I can’t wait to see how the accountant, solicitor, pharma sales rep and speech therapist enjoy blogging. This is the first time for a lot of them to have any form of internet presence (aside from Facebook and maybe Twitter) so it will be great to see how familiar they become with bringing their offline world into the blogging hemisphere!
I have to say, I can’t wait until New Year’s Day 2013 when we get to look back on all the fun times of 2012.
This is my favourite blog post so far.
